COURSE DESCRIPTION

this is an introductory course on writing fiction. we will be investigating the practice and process of writing: what counts as writing. why i write. how i write. from when i write. to whom i write. with what i write. of what i write. about what. toward what. who speaks. who has the word. who takes. where is the word in the text. what does the word take. what comes to be text. there will be weekly writing assignments, presentations, readings, and a final project which involves making multiple copies of your own chapbook.
